Pakor’s Donation Brings Smiles to the Faces of Young Adults with Disabilities
Maple Grove, MN; July 31, 2017 – Pakor, Inc., the leading supplier of photographic supplies, donated 9,500 cell phone cases to Special Products LLC, a social enterprise founded to provide practical opportunities for young adults with disabilities. Allowing them to gain practical job skills and real life work experience in a workplace catered to help them learn, grow and thrive.
Pakor’s donation on the first day empowered Austin, Kristen, and Sarah as they unpacked and counted all the cell phone cases. “Austin did really well separating and counting the inserts. He is an amazing young man. Even though he is confined to a wheelchair and on a ventilator, he smiled when he added up the counts on a calculator, and said he had an awesome day,” Mark Arp, Co-founder of Special Products.
The students at Special Products plan on decorating the cases with their art and photography and then sell them at the school store. For the older cell phone cases, they will separate all of the components, packaging, plastic and other materials and then responsibly recycle or re-purpose.
