Maple Grove, MN; October 25, 2017 – We are at once delighted and disheartened to announce that Linda Hoppe is retiring. Her last day is November 3, 2017. Linda has been a tremendous employee. Linda’s attention to detail and wealth of knowledge of the photo industry, has been invaluable. Her willingness to put in extra time and effort to help the customers demonstrated a commitment to excellence that we have come to depend upon.
Linda started in the photo finishing industry alongside her husband, Steve Hoppe. In 1983, Steve and Linda began with a lab in their basement of their home printing photos for realtors, insurance agents, and orthodontist. They eventually opened “The Photo Lab” in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. While raising three kids Linda was processing film, printing photos and handling all the bookwork. They closed their photolab in 1988 and went to work in the photo distribution industry for Loon Photographic. Through the years Linda has also worked for MackayMitchell, Technotape, Minilab Supply Store, and Liberty Photo Products. She has watched the industry go through all of its changes from hand processing to the minilab, film to digital, silver-halide to inkjet. Linda loved being in the middle of all of these changes. It was exciting for her to see all the new technology roll out. Because Linda could easily relate to her customers her customers always received top notch customer service.
“Linda not only has years of outstanding service to the photo community, but has provided strategic leadership through the acquisition of Liberty and has continued to provide a wealth of knowledge to our staff,” said Rich Mast, VP of Sales and Marketing. “I want to publicly thank Linda for her service and dedication to serving our customers and helping grow our business.”
When asked what her favorite job was over the years, she reminisced about when Steve and her did undercover work for an attorney and she always enjoyed printing photos and living vicariously through everyone’s vacation photos.
Linda’s retirement is our loss, but a well-deserved respite for her. A farewell get-together, given held by her friends, will be held at 5:00 on Thursday, November 2nd at Jake’s City Grille in Plymouth, MN. All friends, coworkers and well-wishers are welcome to stop by and wish her well.
